SUBMARINE CULTURES PERFORM LONG-TERM ROBOTIC EXPLORATION OF UNCONVENTIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL NICHES

UNIZG-FER is in charge of the development of aPods, based on their in-house design of overactuated autonomous surface marine platforms.

These platforms, containers of the global knowledge within the system, will have a user-friendly middleware which allows easy programming of high-level behaviours. In order to simplify algorithm development process, a multi-agent simulator will be provided. Additionally, UNIZG-FER will contribute towards localization of agents using acoustics. In collaboration with partners, they will investigate the possibilities of underwater charging, thus enabling aFish and aMussels to charge from the “energy rich” aPods. Their efforts will also be directed towards consensus reaching and dynamic topology control within the multi-agent marine system. They will be involved in dissemination activities, with emphasis on workshop and training organization.
