The Biorobotics Institute at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA) will lead WP1 (Artificial Cognitive Systems), focussing on the development of the aFish AUVs, of the aMussels, and of solutions for harvesting mechanical energy from the environment.

SSSA will rely on
sophisticated experiences in engineering bio-inspired robots and energy harvesting, and on past projects about underwater bio-inspired robots (e.g. LAMPETRA, ANGELS, CoCoRo) in order to design and develop the robotic units mechatronics.

Later on, SSSA will coordinate integration,
testing and maintenance of SubCULTron robotic platforms.
